A visit to Montreal isn’t complete without ticking off certain culinary boxes: smoked meat at Schwartz’s, poutine from La Banquise, an orange julep from its eponymous restaurant. But no stop is quite so necessary (and delicious) as a visit to the city’s Little Burgundy and Griffintown neighbourhoods.
Starting at the Atwater Market and heading northeast along Rue Notre-Dame toward Old Montreal, the adjacent neighbourhoods are a who’s who of the city’s best restaurants and other gourmand pleasures. Until recently, the one thing Montreal’s most delicious district was missing was a hotel as flavourful as its restaurants. But all that has changed with the introduction of Maison Grinder.

From Groupe Grinder, the team behind Grinder, Boucherie Grinder, and many more dining options dotting Rue Notre-Dame, Maison Grinder is the place to stay for visitors in need of a good night’s sleep after a long day eating. Located on the same block as many of the group’s dining options, Maison Grinder’s 15 dark-hued rooms, designed by Andréanne Guillemette, offer a calming respite from the lively eateries below.

Throughout, natural textures, scents, and lighting come together to create an almost spa-like atmosphere that is a feast for the senses as filling as even the most bacchanalian meal. A 2,000-square-foot rooftop bar is set to open soon, letting guests take in sweeping views of Montreal while enjoying more fine food from its most delicious neighbourhood.
