The Kérastase Hair Coach
Manage your mane the smart way.

Understanding one’s hair can be a challenging and seemingly futile endeavour—one day, tame and manageable, the next, defiant and seemingly of its own mind. Hoping to remedy this is the world’s first smart hairbrush: the Kérastase Hair Coach, which will be released in fall of this year.
The key to this smart product is the multiple sensors fitted throughout the brush, including a microphone (that listens to the sound of hair brushing), conductivity sensors (to detect whether the brush is being used on dry or wet hair), as well as an accelerometer and a gyroscope (to analyze brushing patterns). All of this information is fed into a mobile app, which analyzes the data, accounting for factors such as the weather—encompassing temperature, wind, and dreaded humidity—to create a personalized report for the user outlining the quality of hair and effectiveness of brushing habits, and providing haircare tips and product recommendations.
This product comes as the result of a collaboration between haircare brand Kérastase, electronics company Withings, and L’Oréal’s Research and Innovation Technology Incubator, and is already being recognized as a leading tool in haircare technology, having received an International CES Innovation Award for outstanding product design and engineering.
Like your very own personal hair stylist, the Kérastase Hair Coach is on hand to tackle bad hair days the smart way.
