For one weekend, some of the finest show jumpers in the world gather in the heart of the Eternal City for Piazza di Siena, a show-jumping competition that occupies a unique place in the equestrian world. The setting is beautiful without being grandiose. The competition fiercely competitive without losing sense of tradition. The event combines the intensity of elite competition with an atmosphere of effortless sophistication. It is perhaps unsurprising, then, that Loro Piana has found such a natural home here.
Loro Piana’s equestrian story stretches back to Sergio and Pier Luigi Loro Piana, whose love of horses transformed from personal interest into a formal commitment, developing technical apparel for competitive riders, including the iconic Horsey jacket for Italy’s show-jumping squad at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992. What began as an expression of the Loro Piana family’s passion for horse riding has evolved into one of the longest-running relationships in international show jumping.

For Piazza di Siena 2026, Loro Piana’s signature blue and gold colours were carried into the historic oval at Villa Borghese by riders Edwina Tops-Alexandra, Lorenzo De Luca, and Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani. Their performances reinforced the brand’s long-standing presence, where sporting excellence and understated elegance have ridden side by side for more than three decades. Between the Loro Piana Trophy and the crowd-favourite Loro Piana Six-Bars competition, and a lineup of sporting stars dressed in everything from the reimagined Spagna jacket to the legendary Horsey, the house’s presence galloped through every corner of the event.
