Happy Diamonds Turns 50

Chopard celebrates five decades of dancing diamonds with Bella Hadid, Liu Wen, and the new Happy Sport The First watch.

Some diamonds sit still. Chopard’s have other ideas. Fifty years after the maison first introduced its Happy Diamonds concept, those signature stones are still dancing, spinning, and catching the light. For the golden anniversary, Chopard is bringing that sense of movement back to one of its most iconic creations: Happy Sport The First.

The original 1993 model made history by letting diamonds move freely across the dial and by pairing steel with diamonds in a way that felt fresh and unexpected. The new ones stay true to that playful spirit, arriving in 26 millimetres and 33 millimetres in Lucent Steel or ethical yellow gold. The diamonds get more room to play in a new collection of Happy Diamonds pendants too.

To mark the golden anniversary, Chopard channels the spirit of movement in a cinematic spectacle with a short film directed by Manu Cossu and starring ambassadors Bella Hadid and Liu Wen. The result is less traditional watch campaign, more cinematic celebration. Fifty years on, Happy Diamonds is still about lightness and joy. And with diamonds that refuse to sit still, this anniversary is looking anything but static.
