Burberry Summers at the French Riviera’s Hôtel Belles Rives
Out of the English rain and into the French waters.
The British charm of Burberry, the heritage apparel house founded in Hampshire in 1856, travels south this summer to stay at the iconic Hôtel Belles Rives on the French Riviera. A place that once housed literary legends F. Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway is now associated with yet another esteemed name.

By the Cap d’Antibes water, the dress code is seaside glamour and Burberry Check. Beach umbrellas are lined with the flagship pattern, refreshed through the signature blue of Hôtel Belles Rives and rows of matching lounge chairs. The check print, along with the Burberry logo, is sprawled across the grounds, reinterpreting the hotel’s classic art deco flair.

It’s a change of scenery for the British brand—known for rain-ready trench coats and cashmere scarves—but founder Thomas Burberry embraced the region’s temperamental weather. At the end of the 19th century, 23 years after its founding, the house began to design functional outdoor apparel, first with its signature gabardine trench coat. Trading freshwater puddles for the saltwater sea, Burberry has embraced its weather-informed house codes once more in this newest collaboration.
The Burberry and Hôtel Belles Rives collaboration is available through September 30.
