Mackage

Cold collection.

Canadians know a thing or two about being cold, and looking good while keeping warm tends to require a compromise. Where many designers err on one side or the other, Montreal-based duo Eran Elfassy and Elisa Dahan ask, “Why not both?” Their label Mackage—a play on the French word for makeup—acknowledges that outerwear becomes an integral component of an outfit during the winter, so they’ve designed sleek men’s and women’s jackets that can be left on long after reaching their destination. The fall/winter 2013 collection incorporates dual-purpose materials like goose down, rabbit fur, and lambskin leather that will keep the heat in, the elements out, and are bound to turn heads.
