Grace Coddington x Louis Vuitton’s Catogram Collection

An act of Grace.

It’s no secret that Grace Coddington fawns over her felines: she once said that she dreams “much more about cats” than fashion, and when she launched her eponymous fragrance two years ago it came in a bottle with a cat-shaped lid. Now, the fiery-haired former Vogue creative director unites her furry loves with fashion in the name of Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2019 collection.

For the frivolously fun capsule, dubbed Catogram, Coddington put pencil to paper and sketched her Persian cats, Pumpkin and Blanket, along with creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s black lab, Leon. “[This collection] started with our love for animals, it’s where Nicolas and I really connect beyond fashion,” says Coddington. The drawings appear embossed and printed upon the 50-odd piece collection of leather goods, accessories, ready-to-wear pieces, and shoes. Standouts include elegant louche silk pyjamas and cozy lambswool blankets, as well as an orange cat-shaped clutch with its mouth curled upwards in a perpetual smile. “My collaboration with Nicolas and his team at Louis Vuitton has been so much fun,” says Coddington. “I hope it will be a dream come true for Pumpkin, Blanket, and Nicolas’ dog—it certainly is for me.”

A Louis Vuitton x Grace Coddington pop-up shop opens in New York from October 26-November 12, 2018. The full collection will be available globally on November 2.
