Geometric Heels

Shape up.

Stilettos and block heels won’t ever really go out of style, but this autumn’s must-have shoe puts geometric, sculptural heels firmly in the sartorial spotlight. Showcasing spheres, prisms, and the platonic solids (a.k.a. all the -hedrons) in materials such as rubber, resin, and wood, these heels add an eye-catching feature to the most sleek, minimalist uppers.

The styles to look for include a suede or leather upper in a slide or pump design, ideally paired with classic finishing details such as ankle or slingback straps. Best of all, depending on heel height, these artistic-looking shoes can be comfortable to wear—relative to a skinny or stiletto heel, geometric solids offer plenty of sole and arch support. Take a look through nine of our favourite styles above, which recast heels as the star of the show, not just a supporting role.
