Andrea Anastasio is a philosopher, an artist, and a writer—he also designs deeply thoughtful objets of industrial art.
Filo for Foscarini is one such work, a design that gives centre stage to the individual components of a light that are needed for illumination—the bulb, the electrical wiring—and displays them, hanging pendant-like, with Murano glass bauble embellishments. The jewellery-inspired result is a sculptural work that marries the traditional with the contemporary, the decorative with the industrial.
Design minds agree it’s a striking new way to shed light on our world. Filo was named Best of Euroluce as part of the 2017 Salone del Mobile Milano’s official awards program.
