Signora Fiamma

The new Salvatore Ferragamo handbag.

NUVO Magazine: Signora Fiamma

The round-toe, low-heeled pump with grosgrain ribbon and a gold buckle stamped with “Salvatore Ferragamo” has long been a badge of country-club chic. The Vara, as Fiamma Ferragamo (Salvatore’s late daughter) called the model she designed in the late 1970s, remains a wardrobe staple. Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti has steered the firmly established house since 2010, and his new handbag, appropriately named Fiamma, steals inspiration from the female legacy of the Ferragamo brand. The semi-circular top-handle design is offered in three different sizes, each with a functional pocket fastened with a lock that recalls the gancio, the eternal symbol of Ferragamo. This timeless satchel is the crowning lady bag.
