Bang & Olufsen’s Cool Modern Collection

A beautiful sound.

Bang & Olufsen, is one of Denmark’s best-known heritage brands, founded in 1925 in the small northwestern town of Struer, by engineers Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen. Since then, their sleek, high-end audio and entertainment equipment has helped the brand develop into a world-renowned design powerhouse.

Bang & Olufsen’s latest project, the Cool Modern Collection, sees a tech enlivened with warm aesthetics, inspired by the timeless elegance of the art deco movement of the roaring 1920s. Brass-toned aluminium is featured throughout the range and new speaker cover hues of Purple Heart, a warm wine shade, and Parisian Night, a deep blue, bring elegance to the home. The collection includes a television (BeoVision 14), a wireless music system (BeoSound 35), a contemporary take on its iconic loudspeakers (BeoLab 18), and two 360-degree speaker systems that can link with all other Bang & Olufsen speakers inside one’s home (BeoSound 1 and BeSound 2).

The BeoSound 1 features a 16-hour built-in battery, allowing the wireless speakers to be easily transported from house to balcony or garden, working via Bluetooth or WiFi. Without a built-in battery, the newer BeoSound 2 exchanges portability for power, offering a higher quality of sound. Those eager to own this model in brass will have to wait until it’s released at the end of February 2017.

Whether you’re a hard-wired tech aficionado or keen on replacing monotonous monochrome electronics, Bang & Olufsen is setting the bar high for contemporary functional design by adding a warm spark of gleaming colour to the home this year.
