Those wishing to emulate Holly Golightly’s iconic meal from Breakfast at Tiffany’s need no longer schlep croissants down to the jewellery line’s Fifth Avenue flagship in New York—Tiffany & Co. has unveiled the new Blue Box Café for just that purpose. A haven of celestial opulence, the café shares the building’s fourth floor with a newly renovated luxury home and accessories department displaying the first major collection by Reed Krakoff, the company’s chief artistic officer as of January 2017. Naturally, the two-tone china bears Krakoff’s tongue-in-cheek touch, and the entire space dressed in silver and blue (including a wall of amazonite—a naturally blue-green stone). As for the menu—expect utterly sophisticated renditions of American classics. But whether you opt for the truffled scrambled eggs or the lobster avocado salad, one choice is non-negotiable: a perfect blue cake made to resemble a Tiffany blue box, a dessert charming and sweet enough to cure any case of the “mean reds”.
